Why displayed DPS can mislead
Burst damage ignores accuracy, reloads and target armor. This calculator separates landed-hit damage from sustained DPS, then simulates the magazine breaks needed to finish the target. It is especially useful when comparing a slow high-damage rifle with a lower-damage automatic weapon.
How to compare weapons fairly
- Use the displayed damage from weapons of the same quality.
- Keep target health, armor, body location and difficulty unchanged.
- Use an accuracy estimate you can actually maintain.
- Compare expected ammo and TTK, not only the largest damage number.
